Hay-on–Wye, world renown as ‘the town of books’, is a small market border town of 1500 people that lies at the heart of a rural community of some 17,000. At a time of increasing economic difficulty, we need to build on the unique character of Hay, thereby ensuring jobs, prosperity, economic security and an increasing sense of well - being for everyone. A new open and democratic organization called Hay Together is being formed to answer this need.

Josie Pearson to Open Community Fair
Josie Pearson has confirmed that she will open the Hay Community Fair at Hay Castle on the 29th September. The paralympian won a gold medal in the
F51/52/53 discus on Friday and also broke the world record in each of her first three throws. She won by a huge margin, and Hay has been buzzing since the event. Those who know her were not totally surprised by her success, but are overjoyed for her. I am sure she will be a source of inspiration for many people for many years to come, and she will receive a hero's welcome when she returns home.
